About Tiny Acorn & our sources

Tiny Acorn exists to make one nerve-wracking part of new parenthood — introducing food allergens — simple and a little less scary. Our guides are written to be genuinely useful and honest about what the evidence does and doesn't say.

01Who we are

We're building Tiny Acorn — a smooth, baby-ready nut butter designed to make early, sustained allergen introduction practical for busy families. Alongside the product, we publish free, plain-English guides on introducing the nine major food allergens. We're pre-launch, and the waitlist is how we keep early families in the loop.

02The guidance our content is based on

Our content is aligned with mainstream pediatric guidance on early allergen introduction. The primary sources we rely on:

03Our editorial standards

  • Evidence-aligned, not overstated. Early, sustained allergen introduction is associated with a reduced risk of developing a food allergy. We don't claim any food or product "prevents" allergies.
  • Safety first. Every food guide includes choking-hazard guidance and how to recognize a reaction.
  • Not medical advice. Our content is educational. We consistently point parents back to their own pediatrician — especially for babies with severe eczema or an existing food allergy.
  • Kept current. We date our guides and update them as guidance evolves (for example, sesame becoming the ninth recognized U.S. allergen in 2023).

04A note on medical review

Our guides are written to align with AAP, NIAID, and the LEAP/EAT research. As a baby-health resource, we take that responsibility seriously: before we publish health content under a clinician's name, it will be reviewed by a qualified pediatric professional. Until that review is in place, we present this as carefully-sourced educational information — never a substitute for your pediatrician's advice.
